A route to shape around your client
This Lyngen ski-and-sail itinerary combines Tromsø with a moving base on the fjords of northern Norway. Five nights aboard leave space to choose sheltered landings and suitable ski terrain each morning, while hotel nights at both ends protect the travel connections.
The outline allows 7 nights, including arrival and departure planning. Keep the sequence, extend a favourite base or change the balance of activity and downtime. This is an illustrative FIT journey for travel agents; accommodation, transport and experiences are selected for the final brief.
A flexible starting point
For experienced off-piste skiers with touring fitness. A qualified mountain guide and skipper choose each landing and ascent. Confirm the private-charter format, cabin layout and avalanche equipment before proposing it. Allow both hotel nights around the sailing.
Winter & Arctic
We can tailor this outline, combine it with another route, or design a new programme from scratch.

Day 1
Tromsø
Arrive in Tromsø and settle into the hotel before meeting the mountain guide. An equipment check and conversation about previous touring experience help shape the days ahead, with time afterwards for dinner in the city. Overnight: Tromsø.

Day 2
Embark and sail
After a safety briefing, board the boat and head towards the fjords of the Lyngen region. Mountain slopes gradually replace the city skyline as the skipper chooses a sheltered anchorage for the first night on the water. Overnight: aboard.

Day 3
First touring day
The first ski tour introduces the landscape at a measured pace. Your guide chooses an ascent suited to the snow and your experience, with views towards the fjord before the descent and an evening back aboard. Overnight: aboard.

Day 4
A new shore
A different landing can open up another side of Lyngen when conditions allow. The guide sets the route and turnaround time on the day, making the mountain experience more important than reaching a particular summit. Overnight: aboard.

Day 5
Ski or coastal day
Another touring day offers time to explore the relationship between sea and mountain. If visibility or snow stability is unsuitable, the programme stays closer to the coast, with the boat providing a comfortable base between outings. Overnight: aboard.

Day 6
One last ski window
There may be time for a shorter ski tour before the return passage begins. The guide and skipper coordinate the final landing around the weather, leaving enough room in the day for the journey towards Tromsø. Overnight: aboard.

Day 7
Return to Tromsø
Return to Tromsø, disembark and hand back any hired equipment. A hotel night gives you time to enjoy the city again and provides a useful margin between the sailing programme and the following day’s flight. Overnight: Tromsø.

Day 8
Departure
Travel to Tromsø Airport after the final hotel night. For clients who would like more time on land, an extra city stay can be arranged before continuing their journey.
