March–April
Reykjavík → Akureyri → Siglufjörður → Reykjavík
A route to shape around your client
Siglufjörður makes a settled base for guided ski touring on Iceland’s Tröllaskagi peninsula. Four northern nights leave several chances to find suitable snow and terrain, while Reykjavík nights at either end keep the international flight separate from the northern transfer.
The outline allows 6 nights, including arrival and departure planning. Keep the sequence, extend a favourite base or change the balance of activity and downtime. This is an illustrative FIT journey for travel agents; accommodation, transport and experiences are selected for the final brief.
A flexible starting point
For experienced ski tourers, with a qualified guide and terrain chosen daily. Reykjavík domestic airport and Keflavík are different airports. Retain the final southern overnight and a weather fallback; never promise a particular summit.

Day 1
Reykjavík arrival
Arrive at Keflavík and continue to Reykjavík for the first night. Staying in the capital separates the international arrival from the domestic flight north and leaves time to settle in before the mountain programme. Overnight: Reykjavík.

Day 2
North to Siglufjörður
Fly from Reykjavík’s domestic airport to Akureyri, then transfer to Siglufjörður. Meet the mountain guide and check your equipment before settling into the accommodation that will be your base for four nights. Overnight: Siglufjörður.

Day 3
First ski tour
Begin with a local ski tour chosen to assess the snow and your experience on the mountain. Returning to the same accommodation leaves the evening free to rest and discuss the following day’s possibilities with the guide. Overnight: Siglufjörður.

Day 4
A day in the mountains
Explore the mountains of Tröllaskagi on a route selected by the guide for the day’s weather and avalanche conditions. A lower-level alternative remains available if the planned terrain is unsuitable. Overnight: same base.

Day 5
Another ski window
A final touring opportunity allows you to discover another suitable sector of the peninsula. When conditions prevent skiing, a local cultural visit can replace the outing before preparing for tomorrow’s journey south. Overnight: same base.

Day 6
Return south
Transfer to Akureyri and fly to Reykjavík on the confirmed domestic service. A final night in the capital provides a useful margin before the international flight and time for a relaxed evening. Overnight: Reykjavík.

Day 7
International departure
Travel separately to Keflavík Airport for the international departure. The transfer is planned with time for the road conditions, weather and airport formalities after the final Reykjavík night.
